At the beginning of a new year, the gym memberships skyrocket, and so do the weight loss clinics. It does not take too long for that to taper back off to the usual numbers.
What if we change focus? What do you think about if you say I want to get “fit?” Fit may entail weight loss, but as a secondary, not primary goal. Being fit has to do with feeling like you can do the things you want to, without getting out of breath, without the body parts hurting.
The other focus has to do with inflammation at a cellular level. Cellular or chronic inflammation hurts you all the time on a very small level – and it makes you both gain weight and feel bad. When you have chronic inflammation, your joints hurt, you hold weight, and you are prone to all kinds of nasty chronic disease states. Fortunately, we can change chronic inflammation with diet, which makes it much easier to get fit! Nice, huh? Check in if you want more information!
