The winter holidays are here, do you feel out of control some of the time? It’s normal to be hit with emotional triggers right now – the question is: What do you do with those triggers?
One of the best responses is to simply breathe deeply, which gives your body a chance to do something besides go into that normal fight-or-flight response that triggers cortisol, the fat-maker. Then after you’ve breathed a couple of really deep breaths, try tapping around your eyes lightly with your fingertips, and/or, massage your ears. Then decide what you are going to do next!
p.s. the easiest way to breathe deeply is to focus on breathing out, not in!
